I have a 5 year old paint job on the GN. It still looks very nice I use a chamois on my other cars and it is way better than towels. I am a bit scared to use it on he GN. I use the leaf blower and compressed air to dry it. Then a micro fiber on it in some spots that are still wet. Just looking for some input from the pros. I have some minor swirls but overall my paint is still very nice.

As long as the chamois is wet and clean there won't be problems. Use something else to dry the jambs.

While I do not feed my family doing this, I am passionate about car detailing. To me, if you can dry your car without actually rubbing it you should go that route. I too use a blower for weekly washes. If I'm getting the car ready to do some paint correction, I'll use the blower and follow up with a quick microfiber wipe as I've already introduced some minor scratches with the clay bar.

Regards,
John

Exactly this^

Touch the car as little as possible. Sounds like you're already on the right track

Next best thing to using a blower would be a waffle weave drying towel. When you're done washing your car take the nozzle off the hose and just let the water flow directly out of the hose onto your car starting from the roof and work your way down. Doing this will allow water to sheet off the car which will result in less beading, thereby reducing the amount water left on the panels and reducing the time it takes to dry your car. Keep the chamois away from a black car if you want to keep scratches to a minimum. There is no way to completely avoid them but you can minimize the damage by using the proper wash/dry media and techniques.

What ever you are using to wipe the car ,make sure it is at least damp. Even a dry microfibre cloth will scratch. Just spray a little detail spray on your cloth first.
