Board member 88ZNX has a set of older style Champion CNC ported aluminum heads. They are the style that accept the pedistal style shaft rockers.... similar to stock heads. I think the spacing is different than stock... i.e. you cant run shaft rockers (like T&D's or Harland Sharp... etc.) from a set of 8445's on these without modifications.......

One head is never had any problems.

The other had continuous issues with the pedistals breaking off.... after a time or two of having that welded up.... he contacted Tom at Champion who told him that style was prone to do that with higher spring pressures (he was running a solid roller cam).

That head is also cracked on the end cylinder... (#1 or #6 depending on which bank you were running that head on)....it has been patched a time or two.... but still gave issues. Someone who might spend some money with a professional (possibly pre-heat the head before welding and TIG weld it up with the correct filler rod) might could fix them where they won't be an issue anymore. Previous repair attempts were done by a local shop with an aluminum wire welder.

Tom suggested both heads be converted over to the later style Scorpion individual rocker arm setup....He told Alan $75 to do the conversion + the cost of the rockers.... which was $430. He would mill the pedistals off and machine them to fit the newer design scorpion mounting setup. That price was given several months ago.

He would like to get $750 + shipping for the pair of heads..... no rockers..... but with valves...and springs, locks.... and retainers... he said he has some lighter hydraulic roller springs that he will package with the heads.

So in summary here is what you get for $750:

2 heads complete except w/o rockers. One head is cracked and been patched several times on the rocker shaft pedistals and around the exhaust port on the end cylinder. The second head is fine.... never had any issue with cracking or pedistal breakage on that head.

$750 for the complete heads w/o rockers

The close up ones didn't turn out so well.... I'll take better ones.... also forgot to show a good shot of the repaired area of the messed up head....

The port work in general really looks sweet.

As you can tell from looking at the pedistals of the bad head.... that a complete rocker arm conversion like I mentioned above would be the best route.

Someone needs these heads...

Ttt

Listen...... all I hear is crickets!

Alan told me to slash the price..... $600 shipped!

I'll have to get some better pics.... but you can see in the top pic..... right head..... outer head bolt holes (the two near the table) there has been some welding repair done. The bulk of the welding is around that bottom exhaust port and just above that bottom spark plug.
