Well this just started happening about a week ago and its bugging the crap out of me:mad:

First off, this ONLY happens if Ive been driving for a while or under fast cornering (freeway loop on/off ramps).

Well it will leak...more like POUR fuel right out the bottom of the charcoal canister (up to about a 1/8th gallon), I took the canister off then can the car then NO LEAK:confused: This is a 20 year old canister and the charcoal in there is falling out but it still shouldnt be doing this. I checked for a vaccuum leak to see if something was drawing fuel through and there arent any present.

So any one got any suggestions?

thanks,
Jason

I believe there is a seloniod that allows the tank to vent, if it hangs up you could get fuel in the canister.

Is there a solenoid?? I removed my canister a while ago, and probably got rid of the solenoid too. Now my fuel seems to "evaporate" when the car sits for a long time.

It's either a solenoid or a valve, I'm not 100% on that. But remember the plug in to the canister? I thought that controlled the venting process?

Try loosening the gas cap. Mine leaked for a long time until I realized the cap was bad. It forces fuel to the overflow in quantity.

I realized last night that in fact it was my gas cap. I loosened it and then drove it for a while to see if it would leak, and it disappeared! So that solved that problem and the canister its self will receive the "deep six treatment" :D
Thanks for the help guys,
Jason

I wouldn't get rid of it if a new cap solves the problem. You never know if it will be smogged sometime in the future. I ran a 14" K&N filter so I temporarily removed it so that the filter would fit. Whenever I needed to get the car smogged I would would simply reinstall the cat, charcol canister, stock air cleaner, hmmmm what else..oh, and reinstall the breather line to the turbo bellmouth. What a pain:)

BTW Glad you found the problem:cool:
