Check Engine Light

The check engine light comes on when i build a high amout of boost, but when you shut the car off and start it back up it goes of. If i dont build any boost it doesent come on. Does anyone know why it is doing this cause it has never done it befor. Please let me know! Thanks

Use your scan tool to see which error code caused the check engine light to come on. If you don't have a scan tool then use the paper clip method. The Check Engine light doesn't have to be on to see the code. The computer remembers what it was for 50 starts (stock chip) or until you remove battery from the computer.

Since the light didn't come on until you made boost, the odds are that it is a code 31 which means the wastegate solenoid is not connected or powered properly (fuse).

See what the error code is then we'll go from there.

Builder/tuner left my wastegate solenoid disconnected and I had the same condition. Plugged the solenoid back in........problem solved.
