This post will give u all the pertinent info. Long story short, our board has rented the track out for the day of July 9th. this was originally posted for June 11th, but since they double booked the track we got stuck with garbage July heat again(which we were trying to avoid).
It's 50$ a car racing and we have the track from 8am until 4pm(we have to be out for the nites activities)
Great oppurtunity to test and tune in front of a little audience so u can keep your street cred alive
Planning on grilling and beverages track side as the concession stand is closed(cheapest way to rent it)
Current standing are rougly 20 thirdgens and a vette and a buick or two.
If interested please see the thread I posted for contact info and payment.
I should be out there as long as I get my boost controller by then. There was a TTA out there this last Friday for Street Car Chaos. I tried talking with the guy but he kept walking away and he said he had just bought the car. I was interested in how he got 15s to fit on his car but all he said was he had to grind his calipers and then walked off. Oh well guess everyone isn't a car guy.
Oh and Jeremy don't worry we'll have to show those V8 guys how it's really done.
Yeah some 15's clear but u have to basically take the fins off the caliper if your going to use 15's.......(I was there for a few hours and say him run)
dont like doing any mods to brakes I dont have too.
Try and contact TIM aka 9D1BURD at thirdgen, he is handling payments for the track day.
They are closing the gates at a certain point, so if u havent paid or we dont know u are coming it might be awhile for one of us can get up there and let u in
Alright I'll make sure to contact him. Is this a third gen only event? If not I might have one or two 4th gens that wouldn't mind joining if it's not a problem. I agree on not altering the brakes. I had a friend offer me some free 15" slicks but I dind't have any wheels to put them on and I didn't think I was going to be able to get 15s on my cars without grinding the fins off. I think I'll leave my calipers alone and just stick with 16s and bigger.
I'm from South Bend so it's not too bad of a drive from here. Are you going to the Great Lakes Gathering this weekend? Hope to see you at Us 41.
Yes, u can bring friends and family members vehicles with you. We ask that u do try and arrange payment for them as well.(shouldnt be a problem if they actually want to attend a closed track rental) We understand if it is last minute and someone tags along, as long as they are with someone who has payed, we can sort things out.
The gates will get closed at some point in the morning , so if people arent there or havent payed and arrive late, it may be awhile before we can get u in.
And please PM Tim aka 9D1Burd thru thirdgen.org.
Make sure to mention me and from what board so he doesnt think he is going crazy
Well I PMed the guy you told me to but he never replied on thirdgen.org. I looked and it said that he had read the PM. I'm not sure if I'll be coming to run or not. I need to find some wheels that I can get my DRs mounted on. I might still drive down for the fun of it and might just run without the DRs.
Sorry I wasn't able to make it still working on installing the tranny cooler. About to fab up the bracket and should have it done tonight. Was really hoping to go.
Got mine running 9:30 on fri nite. Drove it to the track, but ended up just letting it sit, got some white smoke on the way and knock under heavy/low boost thorttle so I just let it sit :-(
I think its okay and just needs the tune redone due to the exhaust (with what i have done and exhaust I had u would understand why)
We made the break even point and will be having another track event next year. Looks like we will be moving it to fall, like in sept or oct more than likely
