I was told the only dumb question is the one you don't ask. Well here's mine do I need to set my crank to match my chip instead of being 25 ATDC

Crank and cam settings are independent of the chip you use. They're relative to the CCCI ignition system. Your chip will alter ignition timing after the CCCI, not before.
