Is this a good chip to start with. CASPER Ultrachip v. 3.02. Only thing done to car is Ram Air kit and diff exhaust. If so what kind of performacne should I expect.

The TurboTweak chip Eric does is one of the best out there. He has some neat tuning features too.

Is that the Casper multi-position thumbwheel chip? If so, I have one, and it isn't bad. There are more hardcore chips and others with a lot more fine tuning capability, but for a beginner and/or pretty much stock car, that Casper's chip is nice. My car idles better, runs cooler(because of lower temp fan turn on), etc. I like it mainly for the diff octane choices and the anti-theft option. As far as performance, it depends on what setting. The 92 octane might give you 20-30HP. But, once you start getting into higher boost you better have a scanmaster to keep an eye on knock. As you get more into these cars, you might "outgrow" that chip. For example, I have a SMC alcohol kit that I will be installing this spring. Once that and my bigger injectors are in, I might go with that TurboTweak chip. I hear they are the way to go for alchy setups.

Don't even bother to change the chip until the fuel system is upgraded. Most custom chips will start with a fuel pressure of about 45 psi, which is more than the stock, non-adjustable regulator can supply, and the stock pump can't supply much fuel at that pressure, either. So, until you get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and a high performance fuel pump, the stock chip is fine.
