Anyone know where this can be done? I have seen it on a fiberglass bumper on this board once (wasn't a Regal though). Where do the OEM companies get it done? Not really looking for a paint but actual chrome.

This is a cool process

This is wild that this can even be done. I know one of the gm/buick dealership paint and body guys has just got this kit in and has started to do this type of work on the side at his house. I've heard it's kinda pricey, but man that is a cool result.

Google vacuum metalization............Sorry I did not get back with ya.

Welcome to Paul's, the world's Premiere Restoration Replater

I have used them quite a bit, they are pricey but absolutely top notch results!

I had just called them. The lady was one of the nicest people I ever spoke to. It is expensive and mostly for show cars. I am interested in chroming some roof racks and it was just not worth it financially to me. I am going to look into the vacuum metalization and spray on chrome.

I didn't want to call and waste their time but whats a ball park on a front glass bumper?

..

I called for roof rails. Very very very general estimate was $600 each. They do show car and QUALITY stuff. If it were for the Buick-OK. Wife's truck-no way.
I have no idea about the bumpers. I know that there was a post on this board of someone having fiberglass bumpers that were coated chrome. They looked HOTTTTT!!!!!!!!!! It wasn't on a Buick though.

i'm pretty sure you can get chrome vinyl to lay onto anything you want to- right up to doing the whole car if you really wanted to.. don't know about durability, quality, or price, tho...
