Okay, i searched and know this is a 'known' issue with these cars but for the life of me i cannot remember which part of the lighter receptacle actually grounds out and causes the issues with blowing fuses, i know there are small tabs, but which ones and what actually is the issue. i took mine out a while back and there isnt really anything to it so i figure it should be easy to fix.

TIA

The little tabs down inside should not be touching the outer casing.

Do you have a dvm? Check continuity between the outer casing and the lead terminal. Continuity would indicate that the main circuit is grounded to the case. Bend the tab so they are not contacting the outer casing.

thks Rick that is EXACTLY the info i need:biggrin:

you're the GREATEST!!!!
