cleaning oil cooler in radiator

After 1,000 1/4 mile runs and almost 17 years, my crankshaft decided to head south for the winter! It was a major breakage with 3 main caps breaking and the crank breaking after 1 & 2, breaking the front of the block.

I'm having a new motor built and all is going great but I have a question: what is the best way to flush and clean the oil cooler in the radiator? The car stopped instantly after the crank broke so I don't think much oil could have made it to the oil cooler but I just want to be 100% sure everything is cleaned the best way possible. Hi John, still haven't come to any conclusions yet on my oil pressure, need to start it after installing new pump cover (next test). Cold weather has slowed me down.
My ? is: was the oil cooler you installed put in the rad in the stock location lining up with the same hose connection location?
Where did you get it from? I may go that route instead of an external cooler (which I bought already) since the mounting of it and the new hoses/fittings are becoming expensive.

This 3 plate EOC is from AC Delco. The part number came from Tony D at CAS, he posted it to the GN mailing list several years ago as the one he was using in his radiators. The inlet and outlet are in the same location as the stocker. The part number is (or at least was) 3039077. Cost me $85 or so I think, plus the install at the rad shop.

Anyone thinking about the route that John took, I just checked with AC Delco and that part no. has been discontinued without a replacement. Looks like I am back to the external cooler route.

There is a cooler for the caddys that is a direct replacement I think. I will try to check into it. Personally I don't run a sperate oil cooler.
