Just in stalled a Trans+ and a new extender extreme and the car has never run better. But I now get a code 42. If I use the bypass jumper the code goes away. I even tried switching the wires to see if I had crossed them. But no luck still have code 42. Thanks in advances.

bad splice?

A bad splice into the EST wire will cause a code 42. Ensure a good splice & then clear the code before starting again. :)

I hate to say it, but no. For now I am running with the jumper in and just using the translator part of the T+. But I believe that it may be a bad diode on the board of the T+. When measuring them one of the diodes shows shorted.

If the splices are in fact good, are they wired correctly. Wire it backwards and it'll set the 42 also.

Well I'm not sure if it's "fixed", but Razor told me to unplug the ribbon cable on my Direct Scan from the ECM. Did that and codes and my dreaded popping went away. I then took the jumper off the T+ and all is still good.

Then hooked DS back up and the codes and popping are back. It's unhooked now with a shielding cable on the way. Fixed, I'm not sure, but she's doing ok for now.

Look in Buick Translator Support of the Full Thottle Speed forum for the answer to your code 42 problem. The problem is electrical interference and one solution to the problem is shielding the Translator + wiring.
