Code 42?

I did a search on this topic but I'm still confused. Everyone's car that had this code sounds as if they could be driven. Mine won't hold an idle for more than a few seconds before it dies. It cut off while driving and had to have it towed. The only code I've seen is 42 on Scanmaster. Where do I start...or what do I start replacing? Thanks in advance...............I'm hurting here....

Sounds to me that being that the 42 is displayed,, and it controls timing...that this would definately affect your idle?!?

I get that code when my direct scan need the ribbon cable cleaned or readjusted.If you have D.S unplug at the computer and try that,let us know if that helps.

Yeah, I already looked at and printed out that link. Was hoping that someone that already had this problem could shed a little light on it. It sounds like the only problems have been loose and/or dirty connections? Will troubleshoot as soon as i get the chance and post back as to what I find. Thanks
