code 51

Set a code 51 but the car still runs what would of caused that? I was trying to put my ecm cover back into the original possision the other day and just noticed it on the scanmaster today.

Also the seem to surge a little between 40 and 55 mph what would cause that also. Thanks Sean

Putting some more miles on that rebuild finally ? I had that code once. Was a bad chip I had just bought (had it reburned), and car went into limp-home mode. Maybe the chip is not seated well if it is one that you know is ok, just remove and reseat. Or try using your "extra" ecm.

My code 51 wasn't even that much trouble. I took the ECM out and noticed that the two connections up top were pretty dirty. I took an old toothbrush to them and cleaned out the dust, reset the ECM, and they were fine. Hope that works, it's pretty easy!
