Any preferences for a good coffee maker under $100? Just need one that makes min. 12 cups, has a timer and easy to clean.

I'm bored! Take the day off, so naturally it rains.

Don't know what Tim Horton's is? Of course, we just now got a Starbucks, after they've conquered everywhere else. ;)

Sounds like a coffee shop, do they sell coffee makers too?

You absolutely can't beat a BUNN. The restaurants use them. Brews a pot of coffee in about two minutes.

good choice Jack.............

A BUNN or BUNNS:D all the way:p

Get a Bunn. They now come with a larger pot than they used to.

It says its 10 cups. They must be small cups!

In the morning just pour in your water, go to the bathroom, come back and pick out your coffee mug and your coffee should be done.

Cuisinart

Once you try one that grinds and brews "regular" coffee is always a let down. The Cuisinart is ~ $99, and doesnt "heat" the coffee once it's made. It can sit all day and still taste great!

I rarely like restaurant coffee, and if it brews too fast, it worries me. LOL! ;)

Went with this one

My Dad has one, and if he uses it instead of a perculator, it's gotta be good. I'll know in a couple of minutes. Things I like were that it has a small water filter, you can set the auto-off for up to 4 hours instead of the usual 2 hrs, timer, and it lets you know when it's time to clean. I think cone filters are supposed to be a little better flavorwise than the larger ones. Don't know if that's true or not. It's also the 12 cup size, which we need for when family is over. It came with a permanent filter, which I've never used. Wonder if that's a pain to clean?

Thanks for the point to epinions.com, it got good reviews there.

coffee makers

After the second MR COFFEE broke in two years, We searched around for a better unit that wasn't alot of $$ and we bought an
electric perkulator from WalMart. Coffee always stays hot and the stainless perk brews hotter than those plastic makers. I broke one of those glass "french presses" that I got from Starbucks. (Yah I know, I should have known a trendy coffee maker with French in the name wouldn't have lasted long.) Actually we normally use one of those Mellita cone filters that sit on top of the cup with a paper filter. You have to boil the water seperately but it makes a really good cup and it's only about $5. They have a cone filter now that brews directly into a sealable thermos, so it's portable and stays hot. Hope my rambling has helped;)

Oh yah, almost forgot, my brother-in-law got us a cuisinart maker that brews two individual cups. This maker sucked because we like our coffee strong an it would always overflow out of the cone! (heading over to brew a cup right now!)

.

Coffee "cups" are typically 6 oz cups, not a regular 8oz cup. If you fill a coffee maker pot up to 10 cups..you'll see it's 60oz and not 80 oz. It's a conspiracy I tell ya! :)
