If someone could post pictures, or a link to pictures of an 86/87 coil and module attached to each other, it would really help me out. I'm trying to track down a problem in my 85 GN, and I think my module may be to blame. A previous owner converted my car to the later 86/87 style coil pack, but I am not sure if he also converted to the 86/87 module. On the 86/87 cars, does the coil pack completely cover the ignition module? On mine, the module is about 3/4 of an inch longer than the coil pack on one side. There is a little adapter plate between my coil and module the coveres the gap. Is this the way things look with an 86/87 module, or do I likely still have a hotair module under my 86/87 coil? Lastly, regardless of what I have now, I will be instlaling an 86/87 module on my car soon (i just need to know if i need to buy the caspers adapter harness as well). I know a lot of people have had trouble with certain brands of coils and MAFs and such. What is good source to buy an ignition module from? Thanks for any and all help you guys can provide:) In the past few months since I've gotten my GN, I've learned so much form this site... but it sometimes scares me how much I still don't know ;)

Heres a link to a pic I posted on one of the other turbo buick sites, hopefully it will clarify what I described above. Just copy and paste into your web-browser, and delete the 2 spaces I accidentlaly put in before and after the www

They are the same length on a factory '86-'87 set-up. I just looked at mine.
