Has anyone sucsessfully used coil overs on the front of their car for all out drag racing? Which brand and spring rate did you use? How about using drop spindles to lower the car more? I'm trying to set up my front a rear suspensions on the g- body and have heard thats its really tough to dial in the coil overs on the front.

I've also been thinking about getting coil overs. Come on guys anyone use them or is it a waste of money? My car will be a weekend warior mainly, and some track duty...... Also if anyone has any idea what they go for let me know.

on the front? I have seen 'em on the rear of a GN and properly set up will tame down the launch on a low 10 sec car...not cheap and require much set up work

check out www.qa1.net this is the website for hal 12 way adjustable shocks. they offer a front coilover conversion for g-bodys. iseen an article in chevyhi performance on the conversion.
its touted as a direct bolt in, or you can replace the works with global west arms. checkit out!!!!!

I'll give you my experience from experimenting on Mustangs. We always slowed down when putting coil overs on the front. With the weight we had on the front of the car, we could not get the ride height correct with a loose spring(for weight transfer). We always had to go to a stiffer spring to get the ride height correct and this resulted in less stored energy being released on the launch. On a really high hp car(1200+) the coilovers worked well. But less than that and they didn't. I've never experimented on a Buick but some of the same would still apply to your application I would think.

ride height

i really didnt think there was any problem with ride height.... i thought the lower you went the better for aero dynamics.. I dunno, i'm just trying to build my suspesion right the first time.
