I took my coil pack off in order to better reach my top bell housing bolts and noticed that one of the coil 'towers' was corroded - again. The one tower (not sure which cylinder it's for) is always corroded with white stuff. I usually clean it up with steel wool and put the wire back on. The car runs okay, but this must mean something isn't right. I haven't looked at the plug yet but I'm wonder what causes this and should I worry about it?

Imho, nothing to worry about and quite normal. I've had 5 turbo Buicks, 2 extremely low mileage ones of the 5, and it has happened on all of them. Dielectric grease will slow it down, but not prevent it was my experience. Clean both the terminal and the inside of the spark plug wire plug off as best possible & re-install. I do not know how long it takes for a new set of plug wires & a new coil pack to get that way though.

Thanks for the reply. This is the only one I can remember that corroded like this. Always the same tower. I checked the inside of the wire and it's clean
- it's just the tower itself. I'll just clean it up and put it back together (again).
