 I have been having trouble with my car at higher rpm's, and boost levels. So I decided to check my coil pack.
I tryed ohming out the coil pack across the towers, and the meter will not read any thing. I have tried 3 different meters that I know operate correctly. any suggestions would be great. the runs, but idles bad. I tried the tap test on the MAF sensor and that seems alright.
THANKS
Joe

Yup, Sounds exactly like the symptoms of a bad coil pack. Check the parts for sale section - believe you'll find someone selling them at a really good price. If you want a new one, Kirbans has them on sale for about 50 bucks right now. Don't ask me how I know!:p

Go to the junkyard! I just picked up a coil pack and ignition module for $40 and they are gaurenteed good. Takes LITERALLY 10 mins to remove from a car. 3 11mm bolts on the bottom, on 1/4" bolt on the side, and you're done! WELL worth the trip, considering a new coil pack alone costs $60 (and a module is $150 or more!).

The coil pack and modules are the same on many late 80's buicks, cutlas, bonneville. Just make sure they have a 3.8. HTH's

Yeh......then when you get home and it's no good, you can take it back and start all over again. ;)

Thanks for the replies, I am going to order a new coil pack and module this weekend.
