I'm looking for a new set of plugs to run with my dual nozzle kit. I've had a few problems in the past with loud popping/backfie thing. Ignition is up to snuff with it all being replaced.:( I was wondering what colder plugs would do. Right now I have CR43s gapped at .320. Can someone explain colder plugs, as I don't know what colder means technically?
FYI
car runs 12.3s when it doesn't pop
boost in the 23# range with timing 23/24ish (extender so I can change it)

Hi Ben,

Well, I don't know "exactly" what it means, but I think it has to do with the reach of the plug into the cylinder. Colder are shorter, if memory serves. This makes them less prone to pre-ignition. I hope I have that right... someone correct me if I'm way off base!

Anyway, the real reason I am responding is just to say that I always use 42s at a tight .035 gap and haven't had a problem. Dual nozzle kits, here, too.
 
Could be you are getting rich pop? I would try the usual tricks to lean out the mix a bit. 0-2 readings may not be a perfect indicator, so an egt might be a good thing to tune this with. Just a thought...
 
Try some NGK UR5 plugs if you are thinking of getting new plugs. Cured all my high boost misfires... I love this board!!

I now have Iridium plugs on the way for when the UR5's go out.
 
In street mode, I run 11.8's, low 11's in full race, I run a NGK UR6 plug(#7773) gapped at .032(tight)
