Yes...I'm stepping into the realm of nerd central, but I have to toot my horn!

...Charter communications is our isp and cable tv. They are not the largest cable network in west Michigan (I think), but for a country home to have speeds like I'm getting is awesome (I think)!!

They just bumped up the speeds again and according to www.bandwidthplace.com I'm at 4.6 Mb/sec. Actually, I'm not really "that much" of a geek, because I really don't know what their testing Yet, I'm a gamer when I have the time and I'm pinging between 40-60 on America's Army compared to 80-100 before.....geeky or not, not much waiting time for webpages anymore either

Anyone else want to post their speeds (not their GN), I'd be interested....and yes, I know I'm not the fastest and I'm ready to accept defeat from the corporate computers...but I'm more interested in what your getting from home.

As of 2:30pm mine is slow as a Honda, only 300-400K/s. Normally it is around 2-3meg/sec and I have pulled down files off of newsgroups at over 4.5Mbps before. My ISP is SprintBroadBand in bed with Earthlink. It is a wireless connection similiar to cable but with an antenna on my roof and a Tower on a local mountain.

A better place to test your speed is www.dslreports.com/tools . It will allow more tests from the same ISP and also lets you test different locations.

OK, much better now with results of 1579 kbps down. Forgot to install the reg patch from here http://www.sprintbroadband.com/utilities/ which optimizes the recieve window. HTH

On my FTP server people can generally get 21K/sec which equals 168kbps. Kinda slow if you ask me.

i usally get around 2900kbs with comcast and 256 upload..........cant wait to upgrade to better service

Wow....4006 d, 286 up......it's not so much the download that is suprising...but my upload sucks...well, I guess it is within "normal", but still....your connection rocks!

I've never heard/read where reference to "Mpbs" has been made...what does it mean? Fast, Slow???
