My computer just recently started acting a bit goofy and I was hoping someone can help figure it out.
I have website shortcut icons on my desktop and if I click on them the site (any site) doesn't load. But if I click on it again the site loads fine. So my routine is to click on the icon twice which opens up two web pages. The first one won't load but the second one does.
I cleared all cookies and settings from IE and I replaced the existing icons with new ones but nothing worked.
I have three different virus protection programs and they come up clean.
I haven't changed anything on my computer (that I can remember) and it just started doing this about four-five weeks ago.
Someone recommended this but I don't know what/how to do it:
"Sounds to me like a DNS issue, where the lookup is taking too long to respond and fails the first instance. When you try the second time, you have gotten a response from the secondary server.
The way to test this is to get a cmd window, and run nslookup some.domain.com (which you haven't previously recently tried to visit). It should come back with a Name: and Address: line at the end. If it does not come back with a name and address, that's your culprit. (And if that happens, you can aim your DNS lookups to a different server.)"
Any idea on how to fix this?
