I have money now for a new turbo. stock turbo went out.....
For the last couple of years I have figured a te-44 would be the turbo I would get when the time comes..... However I have been reading some stuff about this gt-3255 "the super street turbo"..
Now the past week Ive been reading about them going out running high boost......
I do have alky and will be running running mid 20's psi.
Does anyone know if these STORIES are true or not.....
I think this gt-3255 would be great ... quick spooling and hard pulling.....
Please lets talk about this alittle more.... Im sure more people are interested in this too......
thanks......

A TE44/TA49 both are quick spooling and will make a noticable difference at 23 psi of boost over stock. Heck, I ran 11.50's@118 with a 100% stock longblock with one at that boost level.

I would suggest going with what works (and what has worked for 10+ years) rather that going with the "latest thing". The stories may ALL BE TRUE and the new turbos are better in every way than the TE44/TA49. The TE44/TA49 are still better than what you currently have, and running 11.5's or faster is going to require more mods than just a turbo.

Limit says dont waste your money on the new GT turbo's,they have a tendency to die on Buick engines.

I'm in the same situation. Waiting to pull th trigger on a new turbo was thinking either the gt 32 or the gt 61 from full throttle.

Some say there great fast spooling good power newer technology.....

Now there blowing up under boost!!

Which is it?

Anyone running these turbos please chime in.

Call Limit and ask them.I wouldnt buy a thing from Full Throttle if they were having a 90% off sale.Id spend my money with Limit,PTE,or B&E if you want customer service.

And just to point out,the gt 61 is a hybrid, not a full on gt turbo.

Mike at full throttle is good people. I'm surprised that some like to bash him considering he's been in the tr scene for a long time, helped develop new products for the buicks, and founded this board many years ago.

Broke tried to pass the buck on Mike for a whole in the bottom of a shipment box where they may have fallen out...... 4 months after receiving it! This is the reason for the response noted.

Let us not forget budget rollers, early TE62 failures and now the new GT turbo failures.

A Buick vendor would never do anything dishonest:rolleyes:

I did call Limit yesterday to get his feedback on this and John is out of town. I called Harry who spoke to Chopper who said that Limit has NEVER built or sold a GT3255 turbo for a Buick so they have no idea of what it will or will not do. I later got this email from John.

This E-mail is intended to clarify the confusion about GT turbos. Limit Engineering has not sold any GT32, GT35, or GT35R turbos with buick housings, and to the best of our knowledge, none of these turbos we have sold have been put on Buicks. Thus, we have no feedback good, bad, or indifferent about how they perform on a Buick. The GT67 compressor wheel is sold in several configurations for the Buick, and we have sold many of these turbos. Most of the feedback is positive, however some individuals have experienced a drop off in efficiency above 25 pounds of boost. Again, not all, but some set-ups saw a drop off in power and efficiency above 25 pounds of boost.

Hopefully this will clear up some things

I never stated where the hole was at.I just said it had a hole.It was on the upper part of the box, looked like someone had stuck there hand thru and used it to hold the box.

So Jesse, please quit running your mouth on something you think you know.
