connecting innovate lc-1 to laptop

So I got my new TT 6.2 chip and have to change the setting on my lc-1 but my laptop has no serial port on it. Can I just buy a serial port to USB adapter ?

Went and spent $40 on the cable and it will not connect.

I need to get this cable too. Don't you have to install driver's for the adapter cable?

Yeah. I finally got it to work. I didn't have the dead end plunge in the cable for the lc-1
