Hey guys well im defently a new bee here i can even change my front upper and lower control arm bushing's. my ? is which is the easyest way to change it and what parts do i take off. since my bushing's r shot and it's rubbing metal to metal i really need to change them . thanx guys any help will!!!help happy holidays:)

Just changed my upper control arm bushings and lower ball joint this weekend. I dont know how you guys with the 3" downpipe do it, with my stock pipe it took me a long while to back the rear nut out on the upper control arm. :D

Wicked....you going to put poly bushings in?

I did on my 84 gutlass and it made the car handle so much better. If you do, get some that have a method of lubricating them. Mine did not and after a shot time they were making noise when the nose dipped.

I think you can get them greasable or polygraphite impregnated (sp?).

well i went to a local performance shop and i got the upper/lower kit from energy suspension but my question is do i have too remove the sway bar upper and lower control arms and spindle to change them???

While I have personally never done the job, my understanding is you need a press to put them in so I would say they arms have to come out.

I'm considering new front control arms from Quickor Engineering. You can buy the control arms from them, completely sandblasted, refinished in black and fitted with polyurethane bushings and new ball joints - ready to install. Just send them your original control arms when you're done with installation and your core charge will be refunded. I don't recall specifics on pricing, and it's definitely more costly than installing an Energy Suspension kit in your existing arms, but down time is minimized and the Quickor arms look better than new.

When I put my poly bushings into my arms on my cutless, I just took the package of bushings to the local Buick dealership and said "I need new control arm bushings....oh..and use these".

They did and the cost was about 250.00
