Alright, my bolt hole for the thermostat housing is broken in half! So, I've tried a couple things and nothing worked (probably cause one side of the hole is jb weld :( ) Anyway, I'm stuck with a choice. I could get another hot air intake and port it (this one is already ported). Or get an 86/87 style intake/headers/tb/etc. I would like to use my ta-33 on it since I already have it and I don't think that will be a problem. But, can I use my stock ecm/coil pack? I really don't have much $$ and need to get this car going but don't feel like putting another stocker on since the other one will be off. If I could get all the stuff minus the intercooler that would still be ok since I'll just run a u-bend tube to the tb like bruce did when he took off his intercooler.

I think you will find the conversion is more than just an intake swap and headers.

All the accessories need to get moved, which means the wiring harness no longer fits, so add that to list.

Not a cheap swap IMO.

Sounds to me your best bang for buck is to either take intake off and get fixed at shop or locate a used one.

What exactly requires this accessorie change. I know it has to be done, but is it because of the turbo placement, or does it have to do with the intake itself? I know this sounds strange, but does anyone know if the intake fits if a person doesn't put the turbo on at all? (yes, I realize there would be an exhaust issue, its a theoretical.)

I am no expert for sure on buicks, atleast yet. LOL

I know the upper radiator hose connection runs right into back of alternator.

I think exhaust interferes with AC compressor.

You can do what I am doing, and mold a 86 on top of 84 intake though as seen in my other post about this. Or wait until we have final production units ready to go.
