conversion question

going to get my 85 HA car without engine and trans. Trying to convert to 87 style intercooled setup. Car has a completly built engine and im looking to find out what all needs to be done to the engine to set it up like a 87

thanks was just making sure that everything in that list was necessary to swap it over successfully. How much power would i expect from a ta33 with a intercooler kit? May just go that route seems less of a headache

Haha , yeah I thought about going IC setup the whole nince but no thanks.
TA33 should get you about 240-260 hp alone maybe.It depends, Stock we are listed at 200hp, but I have read we really are about 230-235hp stock. IDK lets say from 200hp you add a TA33, it's suppose to add 40hp just as is.

Intercooled i would say an extra 40-50HP at the wheels on top of the TA33 gains. So almost 300hp, depending on your supporting upgrades(fuel system, exhaust etc) boost level. Alky could also get you those gains but unlike a intercooler (hardware) that works all the time, Alky runs out, but it's not that much to replace. I heard you can use windsheild washer fluid.

dang i want way more than that i think ill go with the 87 setup then i want enough to put me into the mid to low 11s quarter and mid to low 7s 8th mile how much power u think ill need at what turbo to get me there

Hotair members have gotten into the 11's with alky
Again You can have 500hp but if it's not getting the ground no point just a smoke show car.

We can make good power, we are just limited to not having as many vendors as the IC guys, but we make our own or find a way around that

I think stock we do 15's , The IC guys do mid 13's
It's whatever you want, 11's can be done either way, just right mixture of parts/upgrades etc IMO

300hp is just from intercooler and TA33 by itself. Not even adding HP gains from chip, cam, head work, electronics, fuel system upgrades etc.

yeah i have the biggest part to me oout the way it has a completly built bottom end so thats not a worry now it just on to the right turbo/fuel setup and suspension

Turbo Buick Performance Build Ups/Recipes Again, if you save that money on the convert and use it to spice up the hotair instead.

HELL i think with alky,TT CHIP w/86 ECM, good tune,fuel system, INTAKE(cone,LS1MAF,translator), open DP, MT drag radial,TA33, turn up the boost 20-25lbs........ you can see 11's IMO. or low 12's
