convert to 86/87 ecm + maf + translator, going to pick-a-part

decided to change my hotair to 87 ecm and maf, Which gm cars can i look for parts? 86 and up 3.8 fwd? what about the lt1 or ls1 maf? whats the difference between the two? im ordering a chip from turbotweak. What other parts should i get for a hot air conversion from the wrecker?
