Anybody modified the old door panel or panels? The upper door panel has round hole. Will the replacement window switch fit in the old location with some carving?

If your going from manual windows to power make sure you have the harness and the wires first. I've done this twice on cars that originally had power windows but due to rust or accident some one used a manual window door as a replacement. Just have to have the tracks and motor for the power windows. Drill to drill out the rivets and put holes in to mount the motor bracket. There is no difference in the glass.

The switch will not work in that spot due to clearance issues with the metal door. I've seen a spacer on the door panel to allow for a switch.

OK thanks - that helps some. I already have the wiring hooked up - We used rust free PW & PDL Cutlass doors to replace the rusty GN originals. The wiring was all there (at the moment the passenger side only goes down but that's another story).

I am wondering is if I can use (as a core) some manual upper door panels for the PW conversion. The switch looks to be in the same location as the window crank was and the crank hole looks like it is equal or less than the power switch hole in diameter. So can I enlarge the holes for power to make use of these panels? I will take a little road trip to buy'em if the conversion works.

Sample pics examples attached.
