I have a low milage D5 that I am going to use in my stock trany. It works great but I'd like to "clean it out" before I install it. I think I know the answer to this but is there anyway to rinse or clean one of these out just to freshen it up a little or to get rid of any metal that might be in it?
Thanks,
Steve

Get it cut open & do it right if you think there is any trash in it. Otherwise bye Bye Tranny! Just did one 2 months ago as I wasnt sure about it. Well worth $100 for peace of mind!

Plus you can adjust the stall if needed at the same time which is a Bonus!!

What company can do this?

DONT USE A CONTAMINATED CONVERTOR. Yes I meant to YELL.
Trans will die from it
Pats Convertors can do it

Ditto to that...

I've also had Pats Converters clean and inspect my converter. Great guys to deal with.

It needs to be cut open and cleaned.

Any local converter shop can do it for you. Just find the closest that is familiar with turbo buicks and they'll take care of it.

What you have to watch out for is shops who don't know what you have. There are plenty of D5's floating around that come from other cars and will not stall properly behind the V6. So if you take it in. Make sure you get the same one back and they didn't just exchange it for another D5 on the shelf.
