How can you tell if a converters efficiency(sp) isn't as good as it should be? And what can be done to it to make it more efficient? Thanks

Donnie

Tighten it up. Lose stall. Less stall more efficient.

Thanks Bruce. Your'e the man I need to talk to.

I have a vigilante converter ( 9.5" n/l, "0" pump ) that I was thinking of sending back for a stall upgrade because I upgraded to a PTE-52 over the stock turbo. To build boost, I have to stand on it pretty hard before it finally comes up ( stock turbo spooled fast with it ). Some has said that I need more stall, in the 3500 range, but I don't want it to loose any efficiency. What would you recommend I do? Thanks

What's the number on that extender chip. If it's equipped with launch assist
then activating that should help a bunch.

Converter coupling can be measured from a direct scan file......

Talk with your converter manufacturer and discuss your concerns and desires with them. That is a start.......:D

A -0- pump vigilante should be plenty stall for a 52. I would look into tuning issues like chip, fuel curve ect.

Bruce, TurboBob and faststkr thanks alot. I belive I have a few tuning issues to take care of. With this new turbo it's kinda like starting over! Trying to get a feel of everything. Thanks so much for all of your help!!!
