What torque have people been running with a GT6131 Turbo? I have Ported heads, Precision stock location intercooler, good exhaust and will be going to a roller cam here shortly.

I use an orange stripe. 2800-3000. Works great, but it's on the lower end of what you want for the 6131.

I would go with 3000 at a minimum.

I thought that the 6131 could be run with the stock converter???

The 6131 DBB can go with the stock converter. The STD bearing needs something. 2800 minumum.

The GT32 works pretty good with a stock TC. I had that set up for a little while. Then I put on a 2800 10" and it spools super fast. Awesome street set up. The 6131 may work ok with a stock TC, but would be much better with an upgraded TC.

I got the orange stripe and getting it installed tomorrow. "My" buick guy told me the orange stripe would work the best with the GT6131, as I am running one right now.

Thanks guys. I have decided to go with a Pat's 10" 3200 lock-up. I will let ya know how it runs. I ran this turbo with a stock converter for awhile. It spooled kind of sluggish, but the mid range was brutal. The guys at Fullthrottle assure me that this converter will definitely take care of the sluggish, so I should go straight to the brutal part.

I ran my GT6131e with a restalled stock 2700 converter. Worked great on the street, but at the track if I was the last to stage, and left on the 3rd yellow I would have about 8# of boost built by that short time...made for very inconsistant launches.
Then I got a PTS 9x11 3k stall and now it will launch under the same conditions at around 12-13# fairly consistantly.
a 3200 would be perfect I'd think for a mostly drag car...but all converter are not created equal, a 3k stall in one brand may feel like a 2400 stall in another. The 3k PTS feels great on the street....the 3k Mike Kurtz converter on my TA was a pig on the street and took every bit of 3k rpms to get the car rolling.
