converter locked all the time?

What needs to be changed. The converter is locking up all the time. If we unplug the electronics it runs fine, plugged in and the car wants to die. I'm sure its just a converter lock up switch or something, but don't know exactly what to ask for.

Yep

Mine is missbeehavin the same way. Plus a kind of jerking sensation when I decelerate and the reaccelerate at highway speeds. I am replacing the TCC solenoid (easy to do) and installing a shift kit while I am there. I am also adding a tranny cooler.

To be fair, we think there was a little backyard engineering done to the tranny after the transmission center built it.

btw its the level 2 "reptoid"

you could have a short to ground between the solenoid and the case connector,or a stuck solenoid allowing the tccsignal oil to upshift the valve and lock the convertor.it should only do it after a 1/2 shift.does it do it when placed in gear?

I'm betting a TCC solenoid. You can get one from GM for around $50 or so, or I bet Chris at CK can fix you up.
