Converter lockup

Converter lockup 2004r, Can some1 please explain how this works, im not to familar with it. I have a suspicion that mine isnt locking up on it's own.I s there a way i can control the lock up myself,ive heard u save gas with this feature working

You can lock the converter manually by connecting "A" to "F" on your ALDL connector. If it doesn't lock check your brake switch to make sure it's not out of adjustment. The power for the lockup comes through the brake switch. It won't lock in first gear. This is by design.
