Well got my tranny rebuilt 2 months ago. At a local shop, ordered the TCI "PRO" kit for the rebuild. This guy has rebuilt for me before no problems with TH 350s and 400s. New bell and hardened stator support, new TCC solenoid. I didn't know much about the converters in these cars. The guy doing the rebuild recommended a new converter, I said OK and that I wanted one with a little higher stall than stock. He told me stock was 1600, and got me one with a stall of 2100.
Since then, found out stock is 2400. SON OFA.............
!! Before I go up there to ream this guy a new one, want to make sure the factory one is a lock up converter, is it? The reason I ask is at 60 MPH I am running well over 3000 RPM. Leads me to believe the one installed is not locked up.
The tranny shifts fine now. Just running a lil high at HWY speeds. Anything I need to know I haven't covered in this post? TIA
