Converter Paranoia - help

I bought what is supposed to be a new, never installed 2,800 stall 12" LU converter from a board member. The board member bought it from the original purchaser. So, I am the third owner and it has allegedly never been installed. I trust the board member, but am paranoid that this thing could have been used before or could cause problems once installed in my new tranny.

Is there a way to have it cleaned and checked? If so who does this and what does it cost? I am at the point where if I can't feel good about it I am going to throw it on EBAY and buy a new one that I know is aok!

Joel,
Any Qulified Trans man can check that converter out. I bought my Art Carr TC off of a board member, and had it checked before installing it, and it checked out GREAT! I have had not one problem with it all. It will be a minimal cost to check it out. Good luck.
