converter wont unlock

when my 87 T's trans is hot,and when i come to a stop ,the torque converter wont unlock.(car almost stalls out)checked the brake switch and the purple wire is "open" when the brake is applied.i need a new solenoid then??

im would guess the TCC solenoid. time to upgrade to the new heavy duty one

I didnt know they made a heavy duty one? Does it plug in the same way?

yes the torque converter lock up solenoid.....
