A friend of mine Has a 86 TR he is haveing problems building boost on launch
and thru first gear. Second gear it comes up like a rocket. Has a te 44 on it with 50 pound injectors stock motor percision front mount stock headers. Has a 911 converter in it now I think that's what he said. And a 3 inch downpipe. I don't Think he has enough converter. Any ideas?

that converter is plenty. sounds like a tuning issue. slowwww spool up is usually caused by too rich at idle or cracks in headers also a wastegate problem. does he have a scantool

You can spool at 44 with a stock converter.
To be honest your converter could be crap.
I drove a friend's car with a re stalled D5 and it did the exact same thing.
Floor it and nothing through the intersection then it would pitch the rear into on coming traffic. We swapped the converters and it went right away,

Yes I have a scanner and he has direct scan. Were going to the track tonight I'm gona try some things to see what's going on with it.what should the o2 be reading during spool up ?
