Converting a downpipe?

I have a 3" TA Internal Wastegate Downpipe. My question is, if I wanted to go external plumbed from the header into the DP can I use ths pipe even if it has the flapper? I hope this makes since.

You want to use a downpipe made for a Internal wastegate and use a external? Yes, I think you just need to get the flap welding closed,so to wont open.
