I remember posting a thread here a couple years ago about this "hydraulic plant" toy that I had when I was about 10 and no one could remember it. My son found it today after I mentioned it during dinner.

It was one of Kenner's "Girder and Panel" spin-offs of which I had many of, along with the usual Erector Set and Lincoln Logs...
 
Wow ...$13.95 , for a toy like that now you would have to move the decimal point over one place to the right !! It's toys like that , that made kids think and use their hands to build something instead of exercising their thumbs on a cell phone . I loved stuff like that when I was a kid , had an Erector set with a electric motor for a crane . Good stuff !!
 
Same as vacation drives. Us kids used to play license plate games or watch the scenery, now it's all phone games & DVD players. Now when a kid gets their DL, they can't find the end of the block...
 
My favorite. The guys are playing after dinner and what are the girls doing in the background, haha.
