Do the intercooled motors require any special antifreeze coolant or does the standard 5 year green stuff suffice?

If you believe antifreeze will last 5 years in an engine, I have a bridge I can sell you cheap! :)

Replace antifreeze every year and do not use it in the summer season, and you will almost never have cooling system issues.

Antifreeze will not cool as well as water, and if it gets to your bearings due to a blown head gasket, you will be doing a rebuild.

Nick, you use just plain water in the summer? Thanks Gene

We use water and RMI-25 all year as we do not get a hard freeze here.

Hot weather temps like we have will kill all the additives in antifreeze before the summer temps moderate.

To keep the solution at its best, I recommend to add 8oz every year, and a complete flush if brown crud, rust residue, accumulates around the radiator cap.
