StockCode: C5692-040
Pkg Qty: 1
Price: $90.47

thank you

I see. So 40 over has no effect on gasket diameter. thank you

I can't wait to be done. so far to go.

i thought the bore would get bigger numbers wise? what is being measured?

Stock bore 3.8
40 over is 3.84
Stage 1 & 2 are 4.1 stock
Add a bore & its usually 30 over as the piston choice is smaller than the 3.8 unless you go to a custom piston. I had one here for 2 years but ended up selling it in last few months.
The oil pan is also 14 bolt & front cover is slightly different in mounting holes to pan.
The gasket you posted is for a 4.1 20 over bore as far as I know?
Sorry if I got off topic a bit!! :)

3800 standard bore 3830 is 30 over 3840 40 over stock bore i run the 3860 cometic on a 30 over block .040 thousands thick the part number i am using C5691-040

Ah i see! when i looked at this one

Make: GM
Engine: Buick V6 192, 231, 252, Stage I, II & 3800
Description: Buick V6 Stage I & II
Bore: 3.860
Material: MLS / C.O.T. - .040"
StockCode: C5691-040
Pkg Qty: 1
Price: $90.47

I thought the 3.860 was the standard engine bore. Makes perfect sense now.

thanks again guys.

Thats a discription for a cometic for 3.8l up to .060 overbore
and the .040 is for the gaskets compressed height

summit and even cometic dont list all the sizes available
cometic makes a .060 thats closer to the stock composite gasket height so that you dont have to worry about the pushrod length

check with jack cotton for .060
Weber sells .050
