Could one make a boat trailer into a Car Carrier?
i was looking For a boat i find a "dual axle 23' boat trailer rated at 4800lbs"
So my car weighs 1000# less then what its rated for.
What do you guys think?

Well, after you install extra bracing and the decking, you'll be pretty close to the max weight. Save your time and money and buy a used trailer for under $2k

its funny how thing go.

i wasn't looking for a carrier of trailer but since i found a listing for the boat trailer and it is cheap it sorta got my curiosity going. Anyway after i posted this i figured let me look up car carriers in E-Bay and Walla i found new ones for as little as $1500.00 So this thought of converting a trailer just went out the window. The last i looked up car carriers i couldn't find anything less $3K So that why thought of maybe converting one But not know when i can buy one for $1500.00 or so. This bad economy sure changes ones profit margin.

look around and you can find decent used car trailers that maybe need tires and wood decking for $500 or so. they don't show up very often, but they do show up from time to time.
