I think the CPT 66 BB spooled great with the stock converter, mine was a P trim with a .63 AR . When I put the Art Carr 3400-3600 converter in I had Insta-Spool. It went from vacuum to 28 psi in about a half-second.
As far as mods at the time of the stock converter, Fast XFI, 72 lb inj, Alky, 3" DP with external gate. The engine was unopened at the time. I decided to go a little wild with it after the Midwest Challenge last year.( eight hours towing the car one-way, blew a HG at half track on the first run!!! - still ran a 12.58 while oiling the track)

Bryan,

I can't believe the CPT66 spooled well with a stock convertor  . Per Jack's site calls for a 3200-34300 stall. Hey dont get me wrong if it worked then great cuz I have a 2800 12" and want to upgrade to a 66.

The 66 from my viewpoint was pretty decent with the stock converter. I wasn't insta-spool but it hit hard. I tuned my Alky to come on at about 7 lbs, HUGE difference. I installed an Art Carr 3400-3600 NLU after running with the stocker and couldn't launch on the street at all, just fried the tires!!!!! I was very happy with the CPT 66 BB, I just wanted to step it up a little on the big end.
