Ok guys I had my crank cut told them to cut it as close to stock as possible ,did I mess up or is this ok?crank is 2.4892 rod is 2.2391 not sure if they wrote this one down right, should have maybe went on the tight side please can anyone help me thanks George

I like .0015 on mains and rods, but others have use up to .0025 and been successful. I had one engine the was like this and I ran the HV pump and it is still kicken today. In the 12's I might add.

unless the person you told to grind the crank knows these engines or specs , telling someone to grind it close to stock may not mean anything . Usually when getting a crank ground you tell them what "limit" (high/mid/low) you want it ground to . If someone knows the std journal size spec you should be able to figure it out what the crank was cut/clearances . but always best to take measurements off bearings assembled in mains/caps against the "measured" specs on your crank . or the very least using Plastigage . I'm just putting a stroker together with a DLS/BA untouched/std crank and it comes in at .0015" on the mains and rods. Measured with dial bore gauge/micrometers and with Plastigage and got the same .0015" . :)
