Loosen the 8mm bolt on the bracket that squeezes the sensor part into place. Rotate balancer so that one of the metal tangs is in between the two magnetic pickups (it will be the slot farthest from the crank sensor connector). Cut a couple strips of cardboard from a matchbook or something that is ~.025" thick, and slide a strip on either side of the metal tang, which spaces the magnetic pickups evenly on either side. Tighten 8mm bolt down, remove strips, and then re check the clearance by rotating the balancer (by the crank bolt) and making sure that the metal tang never touches the sensor. voila, you're done.
