hello peoples; What is the dia. of a stock cross over pipe? The exhaust pipe under the engine. Is the dia. on a TA header differant? Why I ask is I bought a pipe from ATR in the past and it's 2.5" and I might use it with TA headers. I know the TA's C/O pipe is a 2 pc but it's just for ease of fitment.

The TA cross over pipe was made 2" to maintain velocity of the exhaust gas traveling to the turbo, not for ease of fitment.

This is a case of where "bigger is NOT better"! :)

hello Arizona GN; I e-mailed you and TA perforance asking about backordered stock replacement SS headers and both of you replied. thanks. TA said the pipe is two pc. to help in the install and the stock 1 pc. pipe would work . I think you read my post wrong. So is the stock CO pipe a 2 inch? Also have you experimented with a larger CO pipe? I kinda like a 1 pc. pipe. Any words on that subject.

Stock cross over pipe is approx 2 1/16" ID...
I measured up my TA cross over pipe and it's approx 2 1/8" ID.
Sorry but my digital vernier caliper is at the shop with my car, so I've just eye balled this up real quick.

I'm no expert on this stuff, but I did read somewhere that (especially for a street car) you don't want to use a 2 1/2" cross over pipe ............anything larger than 2 1/4" ID on the cross will induce turbo spool up lag.
