cruise doesnt work

Hi guys, my cruise does not work, any suggestions?
Also could there be other problems that could also give me a clue to something else being wrong with my car? Because my car has been running hot. I know it may be because i have a fmi as well.

Try this. Pop the hood and unplug the connection at the diaphram cruise control thingy-bob. Blow out the connectors and clean off any gunk and plug it back in and give her a try. I thought mine was broken until I tried that and it's been working ever since.

Something else mine does occasionally is at the base of the stalk, the wire going into the steering column needs a little attention due to a short somewhere in the wiring.

the most common problem is the switch activated by the brake pedal.

Do a search on the topic of cruise control.

There were several really detailed troubleshooting tips posted recently.

Check the vacuum brake switch first.

Really fat vacuum hose goes to it above the brake pedal.

Sometimes just pushing the whole assembly in will help snap it back in place.

My cruise didn't work either...bought a new cruise/wiper lever on eBay for $30 (paint was worn off anyway, time for a new one, i thought). works now.
