Cut fenders, use GNX flares for bigger tires and rims on back?

I discovered that my fenders are rusted pretty bad when I rolled them and am thinking of just cutting them out and putting the GNX flares over them which should allow me to run at least 12 inch rims in back with notched frame. Anyone else done, seen or heard of this?

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think that some GNX flares will give you more room...They're mostly cosmetic and usually bolt to the already existing stock wheel openings... :redface:...and if you cut these out, there won't be anymore sheet metal left to bolt the flares to...
