I have an option to buy a NON LOCK UP 3300-3500 stall 10 inch converter from Daaco. Question is this, Right now my car is pretty much stock but plans by the end of the winter to make it faster, I.E. Turbo, injectors, etc.etc.etc. But for now on mostly stock car and I'm about to put a rebuild tranny with a art car shift kit would It be bad to go with one of these converters? and I can buy it for about 240 bucks should i go with it or not? Suggestions from some of you smart tranny guys is truly needed thanks!

Really for the money

Your better off getting a orange or red stripe converter from one of the vendors on the board. There are alot better choices out there. CKPerformance and PTS both have excellent D-5 units available as well other sizes.

i have a trans shop here in vegas and would never use a dacco converter in a stock 4 cyl. pinto. about 20 yrs. ago they were the best. but buy outs and south of the border labor put them last on my list after many comeback problems. all related to converter issues and never standing behind their products---len

i'll prob. catch hell over this but i have a daaco 10' nonlock up in my car.i got it on a trade.i like it.spools my 49 nice and have good 60's.with that being said if i was to buy a new one i'd go with a lock up.i lost some mph with the non lock up.but 28" tires made it back.just my 02 worth.
