damage push rod

I damage a push rod at the track sunday,and the exhaust was smoking.Is it possible I may have damage valve or piston.

I did a compression check before I remove the damage push rod, all cyliders average over 145 but plug #5 which was 0. When I repace the push rod and do another compression check,should that show me.
